Purpose & Vision
ADDI made the decision to open a Holiday Programme to expand on our business in a positive way. We are very passionate about the education of children but providing this service gave us the opportunity to provide a safe environment for children to have fun, make friends and really enjoy being kids.
Our Holiday Programme has given us the means to explore new ideas that are creative, adventurous, fun and socially beneficial to all kids. We design each of our Holiday Programmes to be unique, to suit a wide range of abilities and to ensure that there is a great selection of activities. We hope to build this programme further by improving and building on what we have accomplished already and we love feedback!
ADDI Holiday Programme started with a small combination of seniors and juniors, we created our programme at this time to suit the group and it gave the seniors a sense of having a leadership role. Our vision has always been to expand our children numbers and their opportunities. We have now reached that stage and have been able to create separate Junior, Middle and Senior Programmes. This has benefited the children by having activities and options that are more suited to them and their abilities. This also allows them to interact and engage more with children of similar ages.
Generally we plan to have one or two programmes out of the building for the day while the other programme is undertaking an activity on site. This gives each programme plenty of space and means the separate programmes are more established. There is of course, still times when they are all together and this is important to keep the connection, mix things up a bit and keep the Programme dynamic.
We like to employ staff that have a real passion and love of children, who bring different strengths and give their own flavour to our programme. We believe our staff are very unique individuals and this means we are accommodating for not only the different activities but also the delightful different personalities of children throughout our programme.
TINA SIMEONA, JORDAN GRIFFIN and TANIA WITHERS are our Lead Supervisors. Tina works with the seniors, Jordan with our Middle group and Tania with the juniors, however we like to ensure that they are all very aware and informed with all of the programmes. They help organize and manage our Holiday Programme. If there is anything you would like to discuss they are the ones to approach in the first instance. They will do their best to deal with any queries and if unable to will pass these onto OLIVIA BECK our Practice Manager.
Olivia plays a huge part in all services provided at ADDI. Olivia's role in the Holiday Programme is to approve the design and the organisation of the programme. Olivia oversees the whole operation to ensure that it is running smoothly and meets our high expectations. If you require an appointment with Olivia please organize through our reception.

Holiday Programme Guidelines
We encourage all children to bring water bottles each day especially on our trip days to keep hydrated. However we do have a filtered water tank on site for children to use as they please and we encourage this. It may mean water bottles come home fill if children have chosen this option.
We do our best as a team to encourage children to eat their packed lunch at the appropriate times within the day. With the number of children we have to monitor, all children’s food intake cannot be guaranteed. If your child has tendencies to not eat within the day unless reminded and you would like us to monitor them then please let us know and we can add them to the appropriate food monitoring list.
We often do food activities within the programme which can also mean children have not eaten as much of their packed lunch. We try hard to give notice about these activities but sometimes it is just spur of the moment for fun. J
· We please ask if all lunchboxes and drink bottles can be labelled.
Can all children please bring in their bags the appropriate clothing and footwear for the given activities that day and the weather. As beautiful as Taupo is it can be quick to change its weather condition. To keep our children warm and happy we need to be prepared for this at all times.
If your child is likely to get dirty or has toileting issues sometimes, it would be appreciated if you could add a change of clothes to their bag.
Often we do water activities but this will be written in the programme and on the whiteboard to let parents know which day togs and towels need to be provided.
PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL CLOTHING IS NAMED
We are lucky enough to have the use of computers in our programme in both senior and junior rooms. To encourage students to be involved in other things and give new exciting opportunities a go we only allow the children to go on these at 2:30pm and then it is a monitored rotation of 15 minute intervals and due to our numbers it only gives our children a limited time each. There can sometimes be an exception to the rule on technology days where there use is required.
It is a fantastic support if all clothing items are named to ensure we can match owners to the lost property we collect. We try our absolute best to remind children to check for their belongings where ever we may go and always do a sweep of the premises but unfortunately things still go missing sometimes.
Due to the number of children we have we do not take responsibility for toys and devices that children bring to ADDI. It is at individual risk bring anything along to use within the day. We are happy to put things in a safe place for children if needed to lessen risk but there is no guarantee it will be 100% safe.
ADDI has a number of car seats available for use for our 7 years and under children. If you prefer you child to be in a car seat beyond 7 years we support that but ask that you supply your own car seat due to our numbers. On the often occasion we may also ask some parents to bring their child’s if it looks like we will fall short, this is not very often but it has happened.
Facebook and Website
We try to keep all lines of communication open at ADDI where possible. Our Facebook page is always very current and up to date and we always post information to remind parents of daily events. This is our best avenue to keep you informed and also see the exciting activities we get up to. If you wish for your child to not be in any photographs please ensure that is made clear on the enrolment form or to our office staff. Our website also has lots of information and will have the programme activities on there if you need to check anything.
On our trip days we advise arrival and departure times on the programme itself. We try to do our best to stick to these but sometimes unforeseen things happen that may affect this. Our office staff are always keep up to date of our where about and are happy to inform you if there is changes, we will also stick it on our Facebook page. Trips can be weather dependent and can sometimes be adapted at times to suit the weather or cancelled if need be. It is really important the children arrive at ADDI in time to attend trips so there are no hold ups in the morning, if it is not possible for your family talk to our staff and arrange something prior to the day so we can make it work for you.
PLEASE CONTACT OUR STAFF IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS
